Judges' comment:
Two stark contrasts of a contemporary dining car meal were skillfully captured in this photograph. At the table, a disposable plastic cup sits beside real silverware, and flowers stand serenely in front of the blurred mass of a passing locomotive just beyond the window. These powerful juxtapositions, combined with the strong colors of the sky and the sunlit objects on the table, combine to create a very thought-provoking image.
