Judges' comment:
A mixture of curved and straight, vertical and horizontal lines produce a very pleasing composition of a heavily built environment, depicting the ongoing development of Southern California. The use of side lighting adds interesting shadows on the tracks and contrast to the distant houses, while the subdued color palette enhances the dry, desert feeling.
