Judges' comment:
The Great Hall of Chicago Union Station sees many different walks of life, two of which are captured here in a strong composition imbued with issues of race and class. In the foreground, an African-American man rests on a bench, his fast-food lunch waiting beside his shoes. In the background at right, a professional-looking Caucasian man talks on a cell phone. The mixing of color with black and white adds visual appeal, particularly in complimentary reds of the flag and the man’s shirt.
