Judge's comment:
Like a depression era town, or so many Appalachian communities, this town, squished into a valley by the mountainous terrain sends me towards FSA images in thought. The railroad is the life blood of a community and the people who work it, also live it as seen by the rows of identical houses above the tracks. This image, graphically, also has strata and layers that make for extra study as you go through each layer to see and learn what it holds.
