A single shaft of light penetrates the overhead interstate highway, I-280, illuminating the graffiti riddled entrance to Tunnel No. 1 on the former Southern Pacific Bayshore Cutoff in San Francisco. The mix of sunlight and exhaust from the passing southbound Caltran commuter train destined for San Jose momentarily transforms this urban piece of negative space into dreamscape.
